Sunflowers need sun. They do best in fertile soil in a sheltered spot but also will do best in containers as well. If you want to grow your sunflower really tall it is best to plant them in ground instead of planting them in container.

Its best to sow sunflower seeds directly in garden after the danger of spring frost has past anytime after soil have wormed to at 10 degree Celsius.

How long sunflower take to grow.

Sunflowers grow very quickly. Many of them can goes 12 feet of growth only in 3 months. With the proper growing conditions sunflower will reach maturity in 70 to 100 days after planting. 





When to plant sunflower.

  1. For the dwarf type of spacing of 50 to 60 cm is allowed.
  2. Seeds can be shown successfully from January to June for flowering during summer and the rainy season.
  3. Seeds or either shown directly in permanent sites or transplanted.

  1. Buy sunflower seeds and a container.
  2. Choose the variety which you wanted to plant.
  3. Put compost and potting soil.
  4. Choose right size of container to plant.
  5. Water your seeds everyday.
  6. Keep watching till the seeds germinate.
